Parliamentary adviser and former journalist Mina Mangal was shot dead in Kabul, Afghanistan, on May 11, according to TOLOnews citing officials.
Mangal, who was previously a presenter for three local networks, was also a cultural advisor to the Lower House of Parliament in Afghanistan, the report said.
Two men on a motorcycle fired two shots at Mangal near a market in Kabul’s eighth district, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL). Mangal recently posted on social media that she was receiving death threats, RFE/RL said.
A police spokesman told RFE/RL they would “investigate all aspects of this case.”
